Now, however, that&#8217;s not the case.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t tell you how many times I&#8217;ve heard, &#8220;You can find anything on the internet.&#8221; It does seem true. No matter what you&#8217;re seeking, you can more than likely find it on the world wide web.<\/p>\n<p>This has opened up opportunities for businesses to greatly expand the way they reach consumers.<\/p>\n<p>We have officially entered the era of internet marketing.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Creating Personalized Content<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>My first full time gig as a freelance writer started over a year ago when I barely knew what I was doing. I had no idea how to build my brand or even what my next step should be.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, thankfully, I&#8217;ve learned a great deal. I learned that information doesn&#8217;t always have to be linear. If you&#8217;re trying to get from point A to point B a straight line isn&#8217;t always the best path.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re in the market to write web content try to remember the following tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make it Fun<\/strong>&#8211; If your content is boring, no one is going to read it, even if the information is important.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Write from Experience<\/strong>&#8211; Your life is amazing, try to remember that and add it to you&#8217;re writing. If your audience knows you&#8217;ve been down the same road, they&#8217;re more likely to continue reading.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Less Fluff<\/strong>&#8211; Especially when writing SEO content, make your material original. No one wants to read,<em> visit your favorite shop (insert name here)<\/em> over and over again.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Never Stop Learning<\/strong>&#8211; Whether you&#8217;re just starting out, or you&#8217;re an old pro; never stop refining your craft. There is always something to learn, some way you can improve each and every time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>My &#8220;Ah-Ha&#8221; Moment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>My Ah-Ha moment came when my editor told me I needed to make my articles more lively, more entertaining, or she&#8217;d have to find someone else to fill my spot.<\/p>\n<p>If that&#8217;s not motivation I don&#8217;t know what is. I learned over the following weekend that every piece of content answers one of the five questions we learn in grade school: Who, What, When, Where and\/or How.<\/p>\n<p>However, that doesn&#8217;t mean that it can&#8217;t be fun to learn. I found that by interspersing my own experiences with the products and services I was writing about it was not only easier to reach my given word count, but my articles were much more personable.<\/p>\n<p>I liked reading what I wrote and I found that others enjoyed it as well. This boosted not only the business traffic to given websites, but also my own ability to gain future and reoccurring clients.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Pay It Forward<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Even as I write this, I find myself learning new things, like how to create a proper hyperlink. It&#8217;s been a thorn in my side to say the least. However, here are a few blogs, in hyperlink, that I found helpful and spot on for today&#8217;s content writers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/contentmarketinginstitute.com\/2014\/10\/how-to-turn-customers-brand-fans\/\">Brand Fans:<\/a> This blog totes the effectiveness of word-of-mouth, or word advertisement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/contentmarketinginstitute.com\/getting-started\/\">Getting Started<\/a>: This blog is perfect for the beginning content marketing writer. It&#8217;ll splash your feet a little bit, so that getting them wet the first time won&#8217;t be so scary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/contentmarketinginstitute.com\/audience\/\">Audience Matters:<\/a> I found this blog extremely helpful in understanding my audience.
